We are organizing the European Drag Reduction and Flow Control Meeting 2026

The next European Drag Reduction and Flow Control Meeting (EDRFCM 2026) will be organized by Stefano Discetti, PI of the NEXTFLOW project, at Universidad Carlos III Madrid on September 8-11, 2026. The biannual conference is coordinated by ERCOFTAC, a global association supporting all aspects of Flow, Turbulence, and Combustion.

We welcome contributions of theoretical, numerical, and experimental studies on drag reduction and flow control; thematics include riblets, surface roughness, porous surface and compliant walls; use of polymer & surfactant additives, synthetic jets, super- hydrophobic surfaces, browing and suction, wall oscillations and travelling waves; flow separation control, transition control, plasma flow control, electro-magnetic flow control, AI and data-driven flow control.

The abstract submission deadline is on June 1st, 2026. We especially encourage the attendance of PhD students and young researchers, as the event is designed to foster collaborations among researchers across Europe.
