Editors’ Choice collection in “Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science” features NEXTFLOW paper.

Our 2023 publication “A simple trick to improve the accuracy of PIV/PTV data,” has been selected for the Editor’s Choice collection  in the journal Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science!

In this work, we tackled a critical challenge in Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV): the spatial modulation effects that introduce systematic errors in velocity measurements. Our proposed approach, leveraging Ensemble Particle Tracking Velocimetry (EPTV), significantly enhances accuracy by combining high-resolution mean flow data with instantaneous fluctuating velocity fields.

Congratulations to authors Iacopo Tirelli, Andrea Ianiro, and Stefano Discetti for their impressive achievement!
